Philosophy of Practice

I hold the belief that the journey of pregnancy and childbirth holds immense transformative power, carrying significant meaning that will forever be remembered. I view childbirth as a normal physiological process that is intricately woven by nature to bring life into this world. As an instinctual and primal experience that should be both honored and respected, I find that the process of birth itself works best when it is interfered with as little as possible.

I choose to recognize the pregnant individual as the primary decision-maker of their healthcare, promoting shared responsibility between the family and myself as their provider. As a midwife, my commitment lies in offering evidence-based care to my clients, empowering their autonomy, and equipping them with knowledge to make informed choices in their journey.

What does client autonomy look like?

  • Nothing is ever done to you or your baby without informed choice and shared decision-making

  • Relationship-based care that is continuous and personalized, responding to each client's social, emotional, and cultural values

  • Respect for the client to make their own educated decisions regarding their healthcare

I strive to practice in collaboration and consultation with other health care providers to further serve the birthing person and their family.

I am a midwife that has committed themselves to working towards the decolonization of birth. I have recognized the process of cultural humility and learning about cultural safety to be constantly and forever ongoing.

  • "I met Taylor during my 5th son’s pregnancy. I always felt loved and cared for during all of my appointments. She is very welcoming and I felt that she was truly invested in loving my family. We then went on to have a daughter that Taylor delivered. It was the perfect birth and I pay a lot of contribution to Taylor’s sweet demeanor during the labor and delivery. She is encouraging, patient, and really knows her mama’s body language. Such a good close to my pregnancy chapter of life. Her postpartum care is like no other. She is always beaming and makes mothers feel loved and heard. And years later she still loves my family."

  • "Taylor brought a lovely combination of energetic and joyful mixed with calm and grounded to her support. During prenatal care, she was always positive and informative, she proved herself to be very educated and always made our entire family feel well heard and cared for. During the night of our birth Taylor greeted us in a whispered tone to a dimly lit room with a warm bath already filling. She went unnoticed at times, checking heart tones and reading labor cues. She supported us in a family centered gentle water birth, encouraging my partner as an active participant. She cheered along with us and Big Brothers at the news of “It’s a Girl!” She continued to be a loving support for our family during postpartum care."
